Kimbra Johnson


Essa linda mulher de lábios carnudos de apenas 21 anos se chama Kimbra Johnson, nascida na Nova Zelândia. Conheci-a numa entrevista que a Tiê tinha dado. Nessa entrevista a Tiê (A Coruja e o Coração  Sweet Jardim ) comentou que a última coisa que ela havia baixado na internet era a Kimbra.  Eu como fã da Tiê logo procurei sobre essa cantora. E a surpresa mais positiva que mil chocolates. Kimbra faz umas músicas envolventes, um pop bem feito com influências de soul e jazz. Ela dispensa comparações. Aqui postei alguns singles. Além de cantar com maestria, ainda é linda. Então vai aí o primeiro álbum da gata Vows! Curtam, twittem, compartilhem.

Lendo uma entrevista da Tiê, onde ela relatava que a última coisa que havia baixado na net era a Kimbra. Lógico, eu fã da Tiê como sou, fui vê o que era Kimbra. Adoreiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii assim mesmo. Ela não tem CD ainda, deve lançar esse ano. Ah, vocês me perguntam, então o que eu estou fazendo aqui? Baixei algumas músicas soltas por ai pra dá um gostinho de espera.

A fine Frenzy


Alison Sudol também conhecida como A fine Frenzy, é uma cantora, compositora e pianista americana. A ruiva além de linda tem uma voz ótima e faz uma mistura de sons super fofos com influencias poéticas e líricas. Suas letras, sempre com temas emocionais. Alison sempre adorou teatro, por isso o nome ”A fine Frenzy”. Para quem não sabe, esse é um trecho retirado de uma das obras de William Shakespeare: “O sonho de uma noite de Verão” (The poet’s eye, in a fine frenzy rolling, Doth glance from heaven to earth, from earth to heaven/ O olho do poeta, num delírio excelso, passa da terra ao céu, do céu à terra, e como a fantasia dá relevo a coisas até então desconhecidas, a pena do poeta lhes dá forma, e a essa coisa nenhuma aérea e vácua empresta nome e fixa lugar certo). Ela se lançou a pouco tempo no mundo da música, para ser mais exata, em 2007, com o álbum One Cell in the Sea, e o segundo saiu no ano passado, chamado Bomb in a Birdcage. Lentas ou agitadas, todas suas músicas se encaixam, com o momento que estamos vivendo ou já vivemos.


 

Ouvindo pela primeira vez, as musicas de Alison e Cia. mostram a inteligência melódica que nos acostumamos a esperar de bandas consagradas, mas não chegam a emocionar. Algumas, no primeiro contato, parecem até ingênuas demais. Mas a cada nova sessão, o disco melhora, e você vai dando, sem perceber, mais passos para longe do quebra-cabeças. E o que fica na cabeça é a imagem completa, perfeita, sem remendos ou falhas.

E é essa a sensação boa de ouvir o Fine Frenzy. Cada repeat é mais satisfatório que o anterior, e de repente você se vê mergulhado no universo de Alison, enternecido com seus falsetes e suas melodias Coldplayanas, todas sustentadas por uma enxurrada de acordes menores que, por muitas vezes, fazem sua espinha arrepiar.Vai lá.

Depois de ouvir umas 5 vezes, me diz o que você achou. Se você não tem preconceito com vocais femininos, vai fundo. É pop, sim, mas é pop excelente.

Seus trabalhos são delicados, doloridos e extremamente confessionais. O tempo que passou aprendendo a tocar piano durante a infância trouxe resultados: Chris toca o instrumento maravilhosamente, além de compor e cantar tão bem quanto, alternando momentos de inconformismo com uma fragilidade emocionante. É o tipo de música que preenche um ambiente quando toca e chama a atenção pelas suas nuances e beleza. Música de depressiva, sim, mas pra sofrer com classe (adoro músicas depressivas) .

Obs:
• Destaque: Les Lucioles en re Mineur e Black Hawk Waltz canções do seu disco, “El Radio”, lançado em Julho de 2009.
• Gosto muito da beleza física do Garneau. É tão magrinho e bonitinho. :)

Resolvi escutar “You really gotta hold on me” e depois de tocar 10 vezes seguidas, nunca mais parei de escutar (que coisa hein...). “Ouvir o disco dá vontade de colocar uma lente que deixe tudo nublado, granulado e com cores naturais. Dá vontade de se vestir ao estilo sessentista e fazer parte de alguma história de amor, com final feliz ou não. Daquelas histórias bobinhas, mas não ingênuas.

Daria vontade, entre uma canção e outra, de se apaixonar e suspirar “I don't like you, but I love you Seems that I'm always thinkin' of you Oh, you treat me badly I love you madly You really gotta hold on me” como na canção“You really gotta hold on me” , ou então reclamar de um amor quebradiço, resmungando "I'm alone on a bicycle for two" da canção "Black Hole". Entrar nesse cenário descrito fica mais fácil, porque a própria cantora, Zooey Deschanel (acho ela linda), que também é atriz, declama com extrema verdade e beleza dessas histórias de amor. A melodia, comandada por M. Ward (tem seu charme) também é fiel ao clima proposto e traz um folk balada meio derretido e bem humorado.”

She marched to her wardrobe and she threw away the colour, because wearing black looks mysterious, but it didn't impress her mother.
She wanted to dress her baby in patterns and flowers, but Mariella just crossed her arms and so she cried for hours.

Tegan and Sara

Tegan and Sara é uma dupla canadense de indie rock/indie pop, composta por duas gêmeas idênticas, Tegan Rain Quin e Sara Kiersten Quin (nascidas em 19 de setembro de 1980).
