Duffy

Favorite Son

Producer, drummer, DJ and musical whiz Matt Aitchison - AKA Favourite Son - proudly presents his latestmusical offerings to the world. To expand his artistic horizons, Matt departed from the group OKA in 2008, and is now producing some of his best music yet for the likes of Matty James (Futurizms), Kim Churchill and Sada Simran Kaur (Huna).
And now his unique and extraordinary collection of tunes comes together on his first solo album FAVORITE SON, drawing on an eclectic and long list of musical styles - from old soul to ambient, house to rock, with a healthy dose of 80's grooves thrown in.

Fol Chen

The Story of Fol Chen:

Traffic was thick, thick, thick and Samuel Bing was unwell, strung out on the latest psychotropic fads: sleeplessness and feeling crummy. The Northern State was crawling, the usual twice-a-day funeral procession for Robert Moses. Above the overpasses, the clouds were lined with gristle. Even the horizon seemed to be sinking. So, it came just in time when Donna Donna transmitted her message over the open radio waves – a phantom broadcast from a station whose signal had long since dissolved into static. She spoke backwards for security and you could barely hear her voice between the Crazy Eddie ads, but Samuel Bing had his radio loud. He understood each word. “Initiates in the society of Fol Chen,” Donna Donna whispered, "Let’s get to it. While you sit in traffic, John Shade is busy spreading his black mischief. Here's the Screamer of the Week: 'Birds Fly' by Icicle Works.” Samuel Bing turned off his car and opened his trunk. No one was moving, so no one bothered honking. The trunk was filled with what looked like garbage, but this wasn’t just any piled crap — every object was a module in a greater, yet-to-be-created whole. Samuel Bing fished out a cassette tape and a broken ice-scraper. He inspected the sides of each, found the hidden grooves, snapped them together. He grabbed a faded Polaroid, an old paperback romance, a polyester potholder, and a pair of drugstore sunglasses. He snapped each edge to edge. He chose twelve items, then another six, and arranged all eighteen in interlocking circles that together formed a wider circle. Just to be safe, he welded the grooves with a cigarette lighter, slapped the whole thing on his back. From beneath a crusty blanket where the spare tire should have been, he pulled a wide, machete-like sword, and shoved it in his belt. Then he leapt into the air and let the currents carry him.

Hercules And Love Affair

 The lights they call me
Call me to your side
The lights they bind me
They take my sight

Will you restore me?
Grace my senses again?
The lights they blind me
Soon he descends

Rivulets

Slowcore, sadcore.
A banda é na verdade o faz-tudo Nathan Amundson, que sabe combinar perfeitamente letras simples e fortes, num ritmo lento mas cheio de quebradas caóticas.

O último CD, You Are My Home, já foi postado pelo dEVO, aqui.
É o mais bonito, o mais coeso.

Seguem os dois primeiros CDS. Não deixam de ser ótimos também.

Rivulets - Debridement (2003)

Material extra :).

Gotan Project

Celos

Celos
pudo el amor ser distinto
redes
trampa mortal en mi camino
y en un café , un café de ciudad
me contaste otra vez tu destino

Celos
celos en suelo argentino
fiebre
y mi ilusión que se deshizo
mientras te burlas de mí en tu canción
no me puedo librar del hechizo

Nubes
nubes de sal y de hastío
dudas
pago por ver lo que he perdido
la capital te atrapó, te embriagó
en el triste ritual del olvido.

Mmm
pudo el amor ser distinto
mmm
crudo final discepoliano
y en un café, un café de verdad
cayó el último acorde del piano

Soft Cell

I was born
One day I'll die
There was something in between
I, I don't know what
Or why
I'm a man
I want to break a rule
I am a no, no, no, no, no, no, nobody
Everybody's fool
I am so ordinary
(Frustration -Soft Cell)
